EPISODE 1: DIAL UP

New Year’s Eve, 1999. A mother of three is called by her reclusive childhood friend with a dire warning: life on this planet as we know it is about to end. 

Dutch-British producer and writer. Bruce works as an associate producer at Amsterdam-based production company The Panics Film specialising in the development of both scripted and non-scripted projects. He is a graduate of distinction from the Goldsmiths MA Scriptwriting Programme. He’s drawn to genre with sci-fi and horror short films in production and feature-length projects in development. 

“I’ve always been fascinated by groupthink, collective hysteria, conspiracy theories. So, setting a story to the backdrop of the Y2K bug provided a perfect opportunity to explore these ideas further. In approaching the story, it was important for me to consider Albert’s predicament: he fully believes he will be losing his friend if he fails to convince her. The stakes, although imagined, are high for both ends of the phone call.”
