Episode 9: Con-dolences

A HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENT STRUGGLES TO CORRECT A DAMAGING PIECE OF FAKE NEWS: A FACEBOOK POST ANNOUNCING HIS OWN DEATH.

Lisa Gaultier is an emerging filmmaker currently working in Paris as a script coordinator. Originally from Paris, Lisa moved to London to study Film and Screenwriting, recently graduating with an MA in Script Wwriting from Goldsmiths. Lisa’s work includes screenwriting, short stories and illustration — often wacky, colorful comedies with dark twists and a healthy dose of absurdism and talking rats. Lisa has written for live action and animation, and uses an interest for film analysis to bring genres together and create stories that challenge conventional storytelling and uplift diversity and inclusivity.

“Con-dolences is the story of a prank gone wildly wrong. The absurd humour of the situation gives us an in into the psyche of a directionless character whose motus operandi seems to be running away from any chance at living life or responsibility - decisions about their future, talking to their mum, a girl they like... Culminating with them considering whether this fake death could be a real chance to run away from their life once and for all.”
