Lethargic, depressive, retro resigns herself to the duvet: ‘gang in the head they’re not my friends, think I’ll just stay in bed’ Catchy, honest and ever off-kilter, ‘Sleepyhead’ shows retropxssy’s ability to play with popular forms and still keep her own voice ringing true. retropxssy is a London based artist making alternative hip hop. She works closely with other artists across the city, as well as in Berlin and The Netherlands. Retro grew up listening to her Mum’s homemade compilations of Portishead, Massive Attack and Goldfrapp. Teenage years spent in between raves and Tumblr nurtured influences ranging from The Prodigy to Odd Future.
