Before I started my final project, I talked with my 5 years old cousin. He said that he was not happy because his new sister would be born soon. He thought she will take all the love from parents. I started thinking about what I did with my brother when we were young – I spent my childhood with my him and it was precious time.

So, I would like to let my cousin know that a new sister can be a best friend rather an enemy.

My final project is inspired by my beloved poetry book, Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur. I have chosen to illustrate poems from each chapter of the book that resonated with me and my emotions. Through these illustrations I aimed to offer a journey of self-empowerment, passion, both love and self-love, healing and realisation through an abstract, yet relatable understanding. Therefore, my illustrations became my personal reaction to the poems, rather than conveying what they mean conventionally.

Here is the implicit message of digital intimacy – the idea that we stay interconnected through a digital platform regardless of whether we prefer it to be that way.
